This weeks natural curlygirl feature comes to us from @Felecia Datus. Felecia explains how she achieves this look and how she is able to retain length on her Type 4C natural hair.
What is your hair type?
I have Type 4C natural hair
What is the length of your hair?
My hair is currently mid back length
What products have you used to achieve the hairstyle pictured?
I have only used castor oil for this hair style.
How did you achieve this look on your type 4c natural hair?
Once my hair has been stretched, I spritz it with water and oil. I then add additional oils to my hair, after this I rope twist my hair, leave the twists in overnight and then untwist the twists the following morning to achieve this look.
How do you maintain this style?
Every other day I spritz my hair with water and add oil before bed.
How do you protect your hairstyle at night?
I put my twists in a ponytail and then I band my hair all the way down with about 4 hair bands and then I cover my hair with a satin scarf.
How long will this style last?
I can wear this style for about 1 week.
What is your main staple brand or brands?
I mainly use oils on my hair and I tend to stay away from harsh chemicals .
And finally, can you share with us what are your 3 best length retention hacks for type 4C natural hair?
1.) Cutting out shampoos or any harsh chemicals and using apple cider vinegar (ACV) instead.
2.) Protective styling using twists
3.) Keeping my hair moisturised. I sprits my hair with water so it does not get dry. If I have twists in I will spirits all the way down the length of my hair and then band my hair to prevent shrinkage.
